What is a Building Dashboard?

Definition

A building dashboard is a screen placed in a shared space in a building, usually the lobby, which displays the real-time energy performance of the building.

Why it Matters

Tenant consumption on average takes up 70% of a building's total energy consumption. While it is much more difficult to retrofit each tenant space, aggregate tenant behavior changes can have major effects. A building dashboard helps tenants visualize energy consumption and understand the costs associated with energy.

Building dashboards can also show individual tenant submetering data to encourage residents to conserve resources further.
