How does Enertiv ensure the accuracy of shadow metering devices?
Enertiv uses revenue-grade meters, tested to +/- 0.5% accuracy in accordance with the IEEE C57.13 Class 0.6 standard. This means the equipment is factory-calibrated and meets ANSI C12 certification requirements, ensuring high reliability of the data.
To maintain this accuracy, it is also essential to properly size the CTs (current transformers) according to the actual amperage of the circuits. This process is part of the technical scoping that Enertiv systematically performs in every deployment.
It’s worth noting that some simpler meters available on the market require on-site calibration, comparing readings against past utility bills, which defeats the whole purpose if you’re trying to stop chasing tenants for data in the first place.
